Profile

Dr. David Camoriano completed undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Microbiology from Oregon State University where he graduated Suma Cum Laude. He attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, for medical school where he also graduated with distinction in 2006. He proceeded to complete an internship in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, where he earned the "Intern of the Year" award. Throughout his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Dr. Camoriano presented at ophthalmology meetings and was actively involved in research, including the publication of two book chapters at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

He received three consecutive "Academic Achievement Awards", one for each year of residency training. After completing residency in 2010, Dr. Camoriano pursued fellowship training in Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery with Dr. Howard Gimbel in Calgary, Alberta. During his fellowship, he published several ophthalmology research articles. He then completed an additional year of residency training in Ophthalmology at McGill University as required for Royal College certification in Canada. As such Dr. Camoriano holds certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Combining his clinical and surgical skills to offer patients the gift of better vision is one of Dr. Camoriano's passions. He finds this lofty goal stimulating and personally rewarding. He describes the eye as "one of the most aesthetically pleasing structures in the body," and considers it a blessing to have the daily opportunity to examine the eyes of his patients.
